St. Mary's Church has a number of smaller groups and associations that are committed to community development, youth development, Women and child development activities. They have separate meetings and executive body elected by a democratic process.
Mathrujyothis
Mathrujyothis serves as the sacred organization for married women within the diocese, striving for the comprehensive development of women and the enhancement of families by instilling a life deeply rooted in the Christian faith. By providing profound insights into women's roles within the family and the church, Mathrujyothis empowers its members to contribute to the construction of a more refined society.
A devout and virtuous woman is akin to a fragrant candle, radiating hope as a guiding light within her family, Church, and society. Mathrujyothis endeavors to nurture the capabilities of its members, fortify their spiritual strength, and promote religious advancement within the community through a life of prayer. Mathrujyothis works to transform the Church into a more maternal entity by uniting all mothers within the diocese under a single umbrella.
The organization places a strong emphasis on spiritual pursuits, prayer, and sacramental life. It extends an invitation to all mothers to share their love, care, prayers, and meaningful presence to contribute to improving both the family and the Church. Aspiring to serve as an effective instrument of Jesus, Mathrujyothis seeks to glorify God in the family, Church, and society.
Every month, all Mathrujyothis members convene in the parish to coordinate their activities and foster a sense of unity.
The Syro-Malabar Youth Movement-Madurai, represents the vibrant and dynamic segment of the St. Mary's Church, comprised of young individuals who ardently embrace their faith and cultural heritage. Rooted in the rich traditions of the Syro-Malabar Church, the Syro-Malabar Youth actively engages in fostering spiritual growth, community involvement, and social responsibility.
This dynamic group seeks to empower young members through various initiatives, including religious education, cultural events, and social outreach programs. Embracing the teachings of the Syro-Malabar tradition, the youth actively participate in church activities, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to the community. United in their commitment to faith, the Syro-Malabar Youth serves as a catalyst for the holistic development of its members and a source of inspiration for the broader community.

Cherupushpa Mission League, Madurai
The Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) stands as a dedicated indigenous pious organization, specifically crafted for Catholic children. With St. Therese of Lisieux, fondly known as Little Flower, as its heavenly patroness, and St. Francis Xavier and St. Alphonsa as co-patron and patroness, the league aspires to instill a vibrant mission spirit among the laity, particularly the younger generation. Its overarching goal is to empower children to actively engage in the missionary pursuits of the Catholic Church.
Established on October 3, 1947, in Bharananganam by Mar Thomas Tharayil, the Bishop of Kottayam, the league embodies the prophetic words of Pope Leo XIII, who foresaw that "The salvation of India is in the hands of her children." In just 75+ years, the mission league has not only flourished within Kerala but has also expanded its reach across India and beyond.
With a motto: Mission Activities and Encouragement for "Vocation Promotion," CML continues to play a crucial role in nurturing vocations and fostering personal development.
On August 6, 2023, Syro-Malabar Mission Madurai laid its foundation for the CML-Madurai chapter. The ceremony began with a procession of the CML members and the installation of its first President and General Secretary. The mission, vision, and motto of CML will continue to be a beacon of Christian faith and its commitment to society.
On 8th October 2023, CML- Madurai chapter celebrated its annual day celebration.
